Actor Robin Williams gave a broad and, per TV Guide, “animated (pun fully intended)” performance as the big blue lovable genie in Aladdin. By becoming one of Disney’s best-loved characters, Williams has assured his place in the hearts of America’s children in perpetuity.
Disney will be showing the film as special tribute to the beloved actor, and has added a special picture and message to the end of the film, “In Memory of Robin Williams, who made us laugh.” The Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior are all set to air the Aladdin according to the following schedule (all times Eastern and Pacific; check your local listings for times in your area):
- Saturday, Aug. 16 (9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.) on Disney Channel
- Sunday, Aug. 17 (6:00 p.m.) and Monday, Aug. 18 (11:00 a.m) on Disney Junior
- Sunday, Aug. 17 (11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.) on Disney XD
Williams, 63, died August 11, 2014. He will be missed by the fan community.
